Service was efficient but handled by one person. Highlights included chicken with lemon sauce and duck lo mein. Many found the prices reasonable and appreciated the option for takeout. The establishment was described as a favorite Cantonese spot offering solid food, including honey walnut prawns. The lunch special was recommended for its value and taste. The diverse menu received praise, with dishes like spring roll shrimps and lobster in superior sauce standing out. Overall, a tasty, affordable choice for Chinese cuisine.
My fave Cantonese restaurant in the City. The food is consistently solid — fresh, well prepared, nicely priced — and they deliver! I’ve been going to Golden Horse with my family since I was a kid. They even catered my wedding (and no, they don’t do that normally, they did it as a favor because I’ve been going there so long…but my guests loved it)! Their honey walnut prawns are the best in town and they’ll even make the tomato beef chow mein without the meat if you ask for it (I love it with extra tomatoes only, but my husband likes it with chicken). Can’t go wrong here.
Love the shrimps in spring roll crisps, hot n Sour soup, the daily soups, the salt pepper prawns with shells, ginger mustard greens, salt n pepper ribs, fry tofu cubes, steam salt Fish mince pork cake, roast pigeon, shrimp n char-siu fry rice, lobster in superior sauce Or black bean sauce. I go frequently, and have weekly home delivery.
The food was really yummy.. And the price is just right... not too expensive, not too cheap...and the place is clean.
Food was fresh and well made, portion size is great, the only thing I didn’t like was they put a lot of salt in everything, it was way too much salt particularly in chicken salad . Service was good and fast and one guy was doing everything from host stand to telephone operators, serving , clearing the tables. I will give it another try but won’t forget to mention them to go easy on salt :
We had the lunch special with was like $9 each and came with a good serving of rice and dish!! It was perfect and the staff was so nice and quick. Also, food was delicious. 10/10 would recommend!!
