This is a gem. A dive bar that serves legit Ethiopian food? The owners are friendly and helpful. It's honestly off-putting how good this is, since they clearly just bought a neighborhood dive to make a business. I look forward to cementing this review in 30 years from now, when this place is an institution. View all feedback.
What M A Bailey doesn't like about Club Waziema:
The restaurant/lounge we were expecting to dine at turned out to be a dark and dingy bar. It was not the welcoming atmosphere we had hoped for, so we decided not to stay. View all feedback.
Great local bar with Ethiopian food. Oldest bar in the neighborhood.Vegetarian options: plenty of vegetarian options
The lady running this place is fantastic and the food was tremendously good! Definitely worth a stop if you’re on this side of the city.
I had the mixed veggie plate. So good. Good place to get together with friends. I'd like to go back here.
A few friends and I came here at night for drinks. We arrived at 10:45pm, because we planned to arrive before 11pm, which is when the $5 cover would 've been charged. Once we got to the door at 10:46pm, the bouncer requested $5 to get in. I told them that I thought that the cover is only charged after 11pm, which is what I checked according to their Instagram before and after we arrived. The bouncer said that they changed it to 10pm and that it 's basically 11. The point is that it was not 11pm, because our group timed our arrival to get in before cover was needed. We ended up paying but that was a bit misleading and confusing. Everything is cash only. I didn 't get any drinks but I liked how they had water pitchers and cups in an accessible area. The bathroom is one stall only and not terribly dirty. I got pretty sweaty and the vibes were nice.
