In search of delicious noodles, we decided to give this restaurant a try. Unfortunately, we found that the noodles lacked sufficient flavor, leading us to question whether the establishment was more geared towards tourists than authentic cuisine. One disappointment was that the Wandou Mian dish, which typically features yellow peas, instead included chickpeas. Additionally, the broth in both dishes tasted primarily like plain water with chili oil, resulting in upset stomachs for the rest of the day. To add some flavor, I requested Laoganma and vinegar, as I couldn't discern any flavor in the broth. On the upside, the BBQ squid was excellently seasoned and the service was prompt. The portions were generous and the presentation was appetizing.
We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited for about 50 minutes without any explanation or estimated wait time. The takeout order we received was a mess, with sticky and tasteless Wuhan noodles and no soup in the Wuhan Noodle Soup. The beef was tough and cold. Despite only three people dining in, all customers had to wait 50-60 minutes for their food. The quality of the food has declined, and we observed only one cook in the kitchen, multitasking with washing dishes and cooking. We were also alarmed to see the cook touching meat with his dish gloves on. The restaurant and restroom were dirty, raising questions about their adherence to health standards. It is evident that there are management issues at play, as takeout orders took precedence over dine-in customers. It is a shame to see a once-loved establishment in such disarray.
Pretty good spot for noodles, especially if you like spice! They give a pretty big bowl, so I usually have another meal after going here.I usually get the dan dan noodles. They're different from other dan dan noodles I've tried. The noodles sit in a soup like sauce/oil, which was odd to me at first but is quite good. It had a nice spice from the oil that kind of kicks the back of my throat sometimes, but it's still delicious. It comes with meat and cabbage at the bottom, which is my favorite part since it soaks up all the flavor.I tried a sip of one of the non spicy noodles, and I really liked the soup. It was very flavorful with a nice saltiness to it.
5/5 $14.95 Chicken with Explosive Chili Pepper with Rice5/5 $7.95 Slice Pork Belly with Spicy Garlic Sauce5/5 $2.25 Steamed RiceThis place has amazing, authentic Chinese food! We tried the Chicken with Explosive Chili Pepper, which was perfectly fried and flavored. The chili pepper added a nice numbing spice. The Slice Pork Belly with Spicy Garlic Sauce was also delicious. The pork belly was juicy and was coated with a super flavorful slightly spicy sauce. The service was quick and the inside had a nice vibe. Located in the center of Chinatown so lots of places to try around the restaurant.
I went with a friend who was familiar with the menu. So she helped me with the order. These dishes were delicious! The fish noodle dish was not spicy, but the fish was tender and the soup was not fishy. The appetizer served cold traditionally. The hot and sour noodle soup stood out to me. I love the clear noodles. The pork intestines have a strong flavor. The soup disappeared so fast as I ate too slowly. There were a lot of food for 2 people. We were super full trying to finish everything. I would love to come back again!
