Update: they renovated the space and it's really nice! Most of the same menu items are available like tofu and edamame. I go to this place after the gym when I'm hungry and in a rush because it's one of the only things open after 6pm downtown with vegan options. All of the three stations have vegan protein options (tofu or chickpeas) veggies, salad, or rice. Lots of options and everything is clearly marked. Friendly... View all feedback.
What LilacHippy doesn't like about Bamboo Asia:
This restaurant may be temporarily closed, so please call ahead before planning a visit. Here is my review from 1/4/2017: I was not impressed enough to ever consider returning. Although I was excited about the variety of Vietnamese, Indian, and Japanese food options at Bamboo Asia (all of which I love), the flavors and authenticity fell short. I ordered a Vietnamese rice bowl (vegan) and was disappointed to the point... View all feedback.
This place sounds amazing here I was so excited to try it, but when I arrived on Thursday at 11:00 they were closed. Very disappointed
This place can be temporarily closed, so please call before you visit this restaurant. Added my review of 1/4/2017 below: I was not impressed enough to ever think about coming back. I was thrilled by the fact that you could stop in Bamboo Asia and your selection between Vietnamese, Indian and Japanese food (all foods I love, love), but the product really missed the brand on taste and authenticity. I offered the Vietnamese rice bowl (made vegan) and did not like my meal enough to eat half of it. It also did not seem like the employees took care of the food/product. Huge Bummer, because this place is super convenient to work and is quite fast, but definitely not worth the time, money and effort to eat here.
Clearly characterized vegan, milk, gluten, etc. build your own tons of choices. delicious.
Update: it renovated the room and it is really beautiful! Most of the same menu items are available as Tofu and edamame. I'm going to this place after the gym when I'm hungry and in the rush, because it's one of the only things opened after 6:00 downtown with vegan options. All three stations have vegan protein options (tofu or chickpea) vegetables, salad or rice. Many options and everything is clearly marked. Friendly staff. Very affordable and fill.
I go there a lot since it's only 1 block from my work. There's great variety when you mix and match your sauces and toppings. My faves are the Indian bowl with cauliflower, mango and pickles, the banh mi with mango and carrot (similar to Dinosaurs but more ingredient options). The Japanese bowl is pretty nice too, although you'll have to get double tofu as they have no other vegan protein, and I don't recommend the mushrooms. Portions are pretty large. I can never finish the bowls so I split them over two lunches.
