I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The sushi, especially the Mai Flower roll, was exceptional. The service was friendly and welcoming. I look forward to coming back! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Little Tokyo:
We used to enjoy dining here, as it was never crowded. However, on our last visit, everyone in our group ordered the same dish. Two of us only had water to drink, and for the next few days, that’s all we could manage. It's disappointing, especially since the staff seemed aware of our situation. View all feedback.
Little Tokyo has changed and yet remained the same over the years. My family and I have been visiting this restaurant for nearly 20 years, and it continues to be our favorite Japanese spot in Southern California. As of October 2023, they have once again updated their menu. It's debatable whether the old menu or the new one is better—the previous menu offered more for the same price, while the new one allows for more customization to suit your taste. Nevertheless, the quality has remained excellent, which is what truly matters. If you're not a big sushi fan, we highly recommend trying what was previously known as the Red Rock, now labeled Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna under the "Special Sashimi" section. It's a total game changer and absolutely delicious. Everything I’m referring to is shown in the attached photo. Hope to see you there!
I came here with my gf last night and both of us were extremely pleased! We came here a little before 6PM so we were seated right away. I'm a big fan of salmon so we ordered like 10 pieces of salmon nigiri, baked black trufll roll, san dimas roll and salmonizer roll. My favorite had to be the salmon nigiri since their salmon was so fresh and tasty. One of the best salmon nigiri I've had in a very long time. My gf really liked the san dimas roll. Overall, I would definitely consider this place as one of the best sushi restaurants in the area. Will definitely come back for more next time!
The edamame, miso soup, and udon reminded us of supermarket frozen meals that require no seasoning. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Under the previous owner and manager, Little Tokyo was a delightful spot for tasty meals at a fair price. Now, it feels commercialized and flavorless. The restaurant had very few patrons, and it’s easy to see why longtime fans are staying away. The changes made, aside from the interior upgrades, should have been reconsidered. We won't be returning or recommending this restaurant to others.
The Osaka Sushi set included yellowfin tuna, salmon, black snapper, yellowtail, tamago, shrimp, seared albacore, halibut, unagi, squid, and kanpyo maki. In the first picture, you can see that I had already eaten half of the hero albacore roll since it arrived before the other two dishes. I think the hero albacore would taste even better with a drizzle of citrus sauce, but honestly, it was still quite good. The giant roll, however, was absolutely amazing just the way I ordered it. It featured salmon, spicy tuna, and scallop, and it was my favorite of the two rolls we had!
I absolutely fell in love with Little Tokyo! Every dish was simply fantastic! My family had an incredible time. The service was attentive and friendly as well! We all savored the Tokyo Sashimi signature dish together, and it was incredibly fresh! My favorite was the Hali Hali roll, while my brother couldn't get enough of the BBQ short rib – so flavorful and served in a generous portion. I highly recommend this place! Definitely 5 stars!!!
