I arrived at this restaurant without any expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was no waiting time, and it wasn't crowded at all, especially for a Sunday at 11:00. I ordered a cinnamon waffle and chicken. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—it was the best roasted chicken I've ever had. The waffle was delicious, with an impressive range of flavors like Fruity Pebbles,... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Streetcar Merchants Chicken:
The fried chicken here is excellent—cooked to perfection! It's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. They also have a great selection of beers. My only concern is that the sauces come at an extra cost; I would have loved to try the chicken skins with some hot sauce. View all feedback.
The two stars were, because the money was polite by all that, otherwise it would have been a star. I wouldn't recommend coming here and if they did. when I stayed in san diego years ago, I loved this place, but eating really went downhill hills since then especially to be so expensive. I came to visit today and ordered three whole wings that were crispy fired. When I came to my hotel, I opened my food to eat my huh and there was so much fat in the hunch that skin was fried, but that was slender. this is in the rule a sign that huh rides too fast or bad/spoiled huh was from what someone had told me who owns a restaurant. I went back to the restaurant with my food and told the cashier and asked for chicken fingers instead and she told me that they did not take food again when it left the building. I told her that I never heard that before and that's strange because how would a person know that something is wrong with her order, unless they came home and started eating it? she understood what I said and went to ask her manager after I was politely insisting that my order should not eat. she came back and said that the manager said they would only float the three wings for another charge, but nothing else. I had no choice so I had to agree. I didn't want the wings back to bc if they messed them up for the first time, then I thought they would do it again. they have grounded them again and it was the same problem, the outside was crispy, but the inner extremely slim and field with fat. I just threw them away and lost my money. they didn't want to allow me to change my order.
How in tarnation have I not reviewed my beloved StreetCar?! I?m ashamed. Go here. The chicken tendies are the best in town. Collard greens are on point. Might be addicted to their pickle chips. They have like 8 different house-made sauces and they are all amazing. Everything is perfect, and it?s the only place I?ll go when I?ve got a Sweet Tea craving, Bc that sh is NOT easy to find in San Diego.
Great vibe and even better food! Open, airy seating with friendly staff. Loved the popcorn po boy, chicken and waffles and biscuit sandwich with bacon jam. Might need to take a nap after this meal!
Loved this place! The **** AF was a meal in itself. The chicken leg was the hottest thing I've every had, but it was a good burn. My fried chicken sandwich was da bomb. Will definitely go back. Staff was delightful.
I'm definitely coming back here for more! Good portions to fill you up with good flavors. Two cocktails around $12 each, a slice of carrot cake around $10, and the two meals posted took us to $79 before tip. I'm definitely excited to try other menu items. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous about the service as I have not heard great things; however, we got our food very fast and enjoyed our late Monday night service.
