Pegasus Cafe - San Diego

I recently tried a delicious homemade Greek meal to go that was absolutely worth returning for. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, but I will definitely be back. I ordered the Pegasus Combination, which came with generous portions of gyros, chicken souvlaki, moussaka, and hummus, along with the option of rice pilaf or couscous. Having enjoyed Greek cuisine for many years, I must say that this was the most memorable moussaka I have ever had; it was hidden beneath a generous serving of gyros, resembling a small Greek Shepherds Pie. The meat was infused with aromatic Greek herbs and spices, giving it a truly authentic flavor and enticing aroma. I am already looking forward to my next visit to savor more of their delicious dishes!

My best friend and I brought my mother and sister, who were visiting from Denver, to this restaurant. I have always wanted to dine here. Despite not being allowed to dine indoors, the staff were very accommodating in seating the four of us outside. The older gentleman was attentive, and the nice woman who served us our food was also very friendly. As a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the falafel platter – the falafels were delicious. However, the couscous was not up to par. Additionally, the gentleman recommended a Greek wine that turned out to be unavailable, which was disappointing. I would give 5 stars for kindness and service alone, but must also consider the quality of the food and the availability of items on the menu. Despite these hiccups, I wish the restaurant all the best during these challenging times and am grateful for their caring attitude. Having traveled throughout Greece myself, I appreciate their kind nature. Thank you.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. The food is definitely worth the wait, and the owners, Maggie and Tony, are wonderful people. No matter what you order, you have to try the saganaki, a Greek cheese dish that is lit on fire with wine and lemon - it's truly amazing and worth the visit alone! They also have some of the best gyro meat I have ever had.

Excellent Greek food with excellent service. I have been coming here for 20+ years when I am craving Greek food and am NEVER disappointed! Pegasus does not advertise yet keeps bringing the customers back.

We have been here for lunch and the Gyro sandwiches are very good. Generous serving of meat especially if u order the Super Gyro. My only complain is that the service is quite slow, so do allocate more time for ur lunch break. Highly recommended
