I went to brunch on Sunday with my friends, and I have to say, this place is incredible! There were nine of us, and our server (I can't remember his name) was fantastic... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ortega's, A Mexican Bistro:
The atmosphere is lovely, but I found the prices to be on the high side. The portion sizes are pretty small relative to the cost. The food's flavor is average; the guacamole is good, but it's also quite pricey. On the plus side, the service is excellent—very attentive! Be prepared to pay a premium for drinks as well. Given the current cost of living, the prices seem reasonable, though. View all feedback.
Had a wonderful Valentine's Day at Ortega's. Not only was the lobster perfectly done, and the coconut flan heavenly, but the staff went above and beyond in friendliness and service. They noticed my cane and automatically made sure we did not have to climb the stairs, and our waiter and busboy were inobtrusively there, immediately bringing what was needed and whisking away what was finished.Their smiling interest in us on such a busy night was truly the epitome of good service. Thank you Ortega's!
Ortega's is a really good Mexican restaurant if your craving Mexican. The Margaritas are great too and not to mention customer service is very good too! I highly recommend this it.
Excellent Mexican spot with Baja-style lobster, pomegranate margaritas tableside guacamole. Great service. Good margarita! Lobster a bit chewy. But overall, great value! Dinner was excellent and service was even better. Lobster, rice and beans delicious! Overall, Ortega 's A Mexican Bistro seems like a great place to go for a delicious Mexican meal and a fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend checking it out!
The other day, my friend invited me to lunch at Ortega's: A Mexican Bistro, in Hillcrest. It was an awesome experience. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because of limited parking and exorbitant prices. It's a quaint little Bistro; when you arrive you are greeted and seated. You can dine indoors, or out on the patio. We chose to eat outside. They start you off with homemade tortilla chips and fresh salsa. I had a coke, and my friend had an ice tea. My friend ordered a Cesar's Salad, and I ordered two Baja Steak tacos. The food was superb, but on the pricey side. $19.75 for two tacos). All in all, if you want tasty, authentic Mexican cuisine and you're near Hillcrest, stop by Ortega's.
The food was not we'll prepared. Ordered chicken in Mole sauce, and it was not what I expected. It used to be a good Mexican restaurant, Long time ago.
