First Avenue Grille - San Diego

Many people seem to adore this place, but I found it just okay. I was drawn in by the speakeasy-style ambiance, but instead, it has a somewhat dim and musty nightclub atmosphere.

I've never actually had a meal here, but I have to say that the nightlife is a blast! I enjoy bringing my out-of-town friends to this place because it has such a great atmosphere.

This restaurant is connected to the hotel we were staying at. Even though the place was empty, we received excellent service. We both ordered burgers, and they were so large that it was hard to wrap our hands around them. They were incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor. They also offer room service.

It's that time of year again! I'm off on another work adventure, this time in sunny California. It may not be as thrilling as my summer trip to Europe, but I do have some friends in the city, plus my sister lives in San Francisco, which was on my list of stops. However, my first destination was San Diego, where I stayed at the Bristol Hotel downtown for a conference. Since I arrived late on a Wednesday evening and my conference started at 9 AM on Thursday, I had hardly any time for exploring. You know what that means… hotel food. The hotel restaurant was called First Avenue Bar & Grill, and given my limited time in the morning, I figured it would be my best option.
