Contribute Feedback What Stephanie Tjebben likes about Carmen's Mexican Food:
After being out of state for several months, I craved some good old SoCal-style food now that I'm back home. My meal here was exactly what I had been missing. The atmosphere was charming and comfortable, largely thanks to the attentive staff. The red salsa was a unique recipe I hadn't tried before, featuring fresh chopped jalapeños. I will definitely be returning! View all feedback.
What Maria Vizcaino doesn't like about Carmen's Mexican Food:
I was really looking forward to trying this small, hidden gem based on the reviews, but I have to say I was disappointed. The server seemed confused about the difference between huevos rancheros and huevos al mexicano and was rather curt, providing little help in explaining the menu options. Perhaps she assumed that since many locals and regulars visit, we should already know the details. The menu lacked descriptions... View all feedback.
The menu lacked descriptions, leaving us with just the names of the dishes to go by. I ordered the guacamole enchiladas, which turned out to be on the saltier side, along with nachos asados. The food was just okay, and honestly, I wouldn’t go out of my way to return—even if I were nearby.
I ordered a carne asada burrito without onions, just guacamole and cheese, and it was quite good. The only downside was that there wasn't much guacamole, so it ended up being mostly meat and cheese. However, the carne asada was really delicious.

Food was absolutely delicious we were visiting from Arizona and they were very helpful in helping me pick something good the chimichanga and taco salad was incredible
I used to frequent Carmen's at their original location. The food was always wonderful and fresh. The family that owns it is the best and still are Ive been to their current location in the past but it has been a few years. Today I came in to eat here again, after I'd guess close to 10 years since the last time. The food was exactly as I remember it. Delicious and fresh and hot. The best chicken burrito I've ever had is from Carmen's!! Still the same folks here that I remember from all those years ago. Very happy I came back today. It's nice to see a place that still cares about quality and making people happy.
