While some diners found the food lacking traditional flavor or the AC uncomfortable, others praised the intense flavors and high-quality meals. The staff was friendly and helpful in recommending dishes. Prices were reasonable and portions were ample. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant for a meal or date night. While service could be slow at times, the delicious food and charming owner's daughter as a server made up for it. Overall, Khyber Pass is a recommended spot for a Middle Eastern dining experience.
One word might sum up the tastiness of the flavors here- scrumptious! I wish we had places to eat like this in Texas! The dish I got had beef in pasta shells with yogurt and peas, amongst an assortment of delightful flavors I’ve never before tasted!
I really like this restaurant. I always order the game hen which is pictured here. It's seasoned perfectly and cooked to the point that it is juicy and tender. It comes with a side of rice. The restaurant atmosphere is quiet which I also enjoy. Service is friendly but can be a tad bit slow.
The food was amazing! Our waiter was too. He gave us a history of the dishes we were eating, tracing them back to Afghanistan. Very high quality meal and well prepared. I had the lamb. My lady had the chicken (but she kept eating my lamb). I also had the bolina as an appetizer if you don't know what that is, just order it anyway! You must try it. We will be going again! There are many other things on the menu still that I would love to try.
I had lunch at this cultural cuisine on my birthday and was pleasantly surprised by the service, hospitality, food and the quality of the place. They have good family portions and the price seemed reasonable too. White firni dessert was the best!!’
We returned to Khyber Pass for the second time and were once again impressed. We brought a colleague from work for dinner and they also enjoyed their experience. It was a weeknight, so the restaurant wasn't too busy, and our server happened to be the owner's charming daughter. We started with the combination appetizer which was excellent, followed by lamb curry and a combination kabob plate served with delicious rice topped with shredded carrots and raisins. We also ordered garlic naan and finished our meal with Turkish coffee and baklava for dessert. The food was exquisite and perfectly suited to our tastes. While the service can be a bit slow at times, it doesn't take away from the overall experience. For a truly authentic Middle Eastern dining adventure, be sure to give this restaurant a try!
