Tomi is a cozy sushi destination that impresses with its remarkably fresh fish and flavorful dishes, particularly the sashimi and tempura. While the service can be slow during busy hours, the friendly staff often mitigate this experience. Diners appreciate the value of lunch specials, with generous portions that satisfy both palates and pockets. However, some dishes, such as chicken teriyaki and tempura vegetables, have faced criticism for their quality. Due to its limited space, larger groups may want to reconsider. Overall, for sushi enthusiasts willing to wait, Tomi proves to be worth the visit.

Stopped by on a Friday evening at around 6:30pm. It was pretty busy so we waited about 30 minutes for a table for 5 people. Once inside, service was quick and friendly. We ordered some appetizers (duck and Yakitori) and a variety of sushi and nigiri. The duck was very tasty but the yakitori was not great. It didn't have sauce and was barely grilled. It lacked that authentic yakitori charred flavor. The nigiri that we ordered was tasty. Our only issue was the rate at which the food was served. We received about 1/2 of the food that we ordered and had to wait another 20ish min for the second half. So half of our party ate while the rest of us had to wait. I understand that it was busy. The sushi itself was flavorful and I appreciated the variety of nigiri offered. I am planning on coming back to try out their other dishes.

I was recommended Tomi Sushi by a colleague who's favorite food in the world was sushi and Tomi Sushi did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I was seated immediately at bar on a Thursday afternoon where we got to watch the chefs prepare our food. The ordering process was quick and easy. We were given a slip to mark the nigiris/rolls we wanted and in addition, we were give two other menu with their main entrees/specials of the day. We opted for miso soups and the duck appetizer. I wish the soup was a little hotter but understood we came closer to closing so it wasn't as hot. I would pass on the duck appetizer. It was bland and over cooked in my opinion. I would also pass on the unagi nigiri too as it didn't have any wow factors. However, the other many nigiris we ordered came out phenomenal. The fish was fresh and I'm glad to see they had many toro options. Their salmon toro was sooo fatty and delicious. The blue fin tuna melted in my mouth upon first bite. We also got two other rolls: dragon Tomi special roll. They were okay, I think I would just come back for the nigiris. The servers were super attentive and took away our empty plates and kept our water full. Overall, super good sushi. I would definitely come back to try their omakase.

I've been to this plaza several times but never really paid attention to this sushi place. One of my friends suggested their omakase sashimi was pretty good so we signed up the waitlist. It's kinda crazy because we got there at around 12:30pm and waited for almost 1h to be seated. The omakase was kinda pricey imo, 10pcs for $65. I chose the sashimi lunch bento. It came out with 5 nigiri, 4 sashimi, 3 rolls and 2 sides. I like it, the tuna was particularly fresh and tasty. The fried fish appetizer was also pretty good. Inside was small.

One of my favourite date night is four dollar sign omakase. But obviously that’s not realistic on a frequent basis. When I’m craving for one of those date nights but don’t want to spend four dollar signs, we go to Sushi Tomi!! We always know that we’ll be happy because that’s what Sushi Tomi is reliable! We always ONLY get their nigiris (from their a la carte nigiri menu, not the sets and we sometimes think that the freshness of their fish rival other high end sushi restaurants. IMO this is the best way to eat here only get their nigiri’s and try your best to order from their handwritten special fish menu. They probably make less money from fresh nigiri than a cooked bento box so that’s why I think it’s a better bang for your buck!! Their scallops and tuna are very good the baseline for a good sushi spot ; Uni can vary sometimes but still very good for a day to day spot. We also love the Eel Roll!!!! We get it each time and I always alternate between the nigiri’s and the eel roll for the perfect bites! We’ve never tried their omakase as I enjoy selecting my preferred nigiris instead at a place like this. Before going, set your expectations and know that it will usually be at least a 30 minute wait for weekend dinners. Though annoying, I think it’s a testament that I’m not the only one that think this is a great place! There is no online waitlist, you must be physically present to put your name down. I find that the wait here is shorter than the Mountain View location and the atmosphere is more comfortable as it’s more spacious and quiet. While I love the nigiri’s, a growth area for them is their service. They can be slow at times with getting items (such as chopsticks or refilling tea but it doesn’t stop us from thinking that’s it’s one of our favourite spots! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
