The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the customer service is top-notch. The chicken is described as the best tasting some have ever had, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The staff is friendly and helpful, making every visit a pleasant experience. The new owners have maintained the quality of the food while also adding new items to the menu. This family-run business has a long-standing reputation for serving up mouthwatering chicken and other Mexican dishes. Surfin' Chicken Grill is a hidden gem that is worth the drive for a memorable dining experience.
When I first try it I was hesitate because It didn't feel very clean when the previous owner was there, but when i try it it was such a awesome experience, great service but the food was so tasty and delicious that I been back 4 times already, my favoritethe salmon plate, so well portioned and very tasty!
I've been to many restaurants and I can say with 100% certainty that Surfin' Chicken has the best tasting chicken I've ever had. The chicken is served with a delicious and juicy taste, not like other places that can over cook the chicken leaving it dry. Thestaff is friendly, very attentive, and helpful if it's your first time there and aren't sure of what to order. The only downside is that there isn't one close to where I live, but I'll be more than happy to make the extra drive so long as Surfin'Chicken keeps on doing what they are doing now. Who knows maybe one day they will open a location near me ????
Stopped for a quick bite on our way to Long Beach from San Diego. I picked this place because it had a good rating but I didn?t have my hopes too high as our Mexican food in San Diego is so good. This is some authentic, filled with love chicken. We got anassortment of quesadillas and I don?t know which one I like the most. The chicken is cooked on a grill in the middle of thedining room so there is no hiding what they are doing. This is a nice mom and pop type place where they probably spend too muchtime and too much effort on their food, and we are the benefactors of that. The chicken was full of flavor and juicy, notslathered with a bunch of sauces to mask what it really is, just good chicken cooked right. The cheese and tortillas wereawesome. The Carne Asada quesadilla was just as good, you could really taste the quality of the meat as there are only threeingredients. The place was clean and everybody was friendly, and I especially like how they cook the chicken in front of you.The only criticism I would have is I don?t get the salad thing. It seems a lot of places in OC/LA like to put lettuce eithernext to or in the food. San Diego doesn?t have time for lettuce in Mexican food. The guacamole was placed on the lettuce whichmakes it very difficult to enjoy the guacamole on your quesadilla without having a bunch of lettuce mixed in. Next time I willremember to ask for no lettuce. Overall this is a great experience and we will look forward to stopping in on our next trip.
Best value in town plus the food is always prepared fresh and is phenomenal. The open flame grill puts places like el pollo loco to shame! The new owners have also done a great job by keeping the OG menu items but also adding new ones. Food tastes thesame and quality has remained the same if not better!
Not bad for such a small place. Very mom and pop, which I enjoy. Good portions of food for the cost. Clean. Nice staff/owners.
