We went way out of our way to get out to San Bruno but I heard its worth the drive out of SF if you want delicious Italian food. Unexpectedly, the pizza was the best part of the meal. Word has it that the gnocchi is what they do best but I cannot stop raving about how great the pizza was. When they have a wood burning oven in the, get the pizza. Side note, the ceasar wasn't all that great the meatballs were awesome.... View all feedback.
What Sarina Schmeler doesn't like about Pazzo:
We had the Gnocchi, tomato box pizza and the Clam pizza. Pizza Kruste was beautiful and a combination of chewing and flocky. The pizzas themselves were all right not to write home. This is just so if you want to eat the pizza directly from the oven, you just have to stand up and have your pizza. Overall better than mediocre pizza, but probably not be back. View all feedback.
I grew up in New Haven, Connecticut and I'm wild about New Haven Pizza. They even serve Foxon Park Soda in Pazzo- another New Haven stack. I was thrilled when I first heard that the restaurant opened in San Carlos... even when I opened in San Francisco. Pazzo is the real deal. I first arrived there before today (and had to heat the pizza home), but oh is worth the trip!
Forget the salad, cauliflower or the desert (tiramisu was very humid)... the star here is the SUPERB New Haven style pizza, upgrade to 5 stars. I thought I was at Pepes for a minute when I tasted it. Well worth the trip here for the Fenchelwurst pizza.

The Zeasar was not so great that the meatballs were brilliant. Excellent appetizer.
4.887290 Some of the best Italian food on the peninsula! Everything about this meal was absolutely phenomenal. Starting with the Pazzo Shrimp and Grits was an excellent decision. The prawns were cooked perfectly and had an amazing taste paired with the polenta. The Cavatelli had a fantastic sauce and the braised pork wad incredibly tender. The highlight of the meal was the Bianca pizza, topped with a egg. The crust had the perfect amount of bitterness, and the delicious mushrooms gave a wonderful pizza it's signature taste. The egg kicked it up a notch and was perfect in the center. Finishing off the meal is the molten lava cake and tiramisu, both of which were delectable and a perfect way to finish off such an exquisite meal!
So good I almost don’t want to tell you about it so I can still get in and get a table. First class food and dining. Great restaurant not snooty or pretentious and food is top notch. Hidden gem, axel took great care of us and I hope to be back to celebrate much more at Pazzo Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
