We eat in the bar. Although it was busy, it was always relaxed. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Entrées were excellent. We had sweet breads and veal conte. Watercress soup was wonderful, salad, excellent. In other words, it was a great evening. View all feedback.
What William dislikes about LE CHALET BASQUE RESTAURANT:
Party of 4. Unfortunately, except for one entre, all the others were very good. The one exception was the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The outside was crusty and burned. Inedible. When served, I said that it looked burned. The server said ALL were like this in order for the inside to be cooked. Obviously, the outside should be golden and edible. I had to cut off the outer layer in order to eat. I was quite disappointed with... View all feedback.
Love chalet basque. the food is delicious and the service is friendly. always enjoy us there.
The service was, as always, professional and first class. The menu was the most varied I have seen it at Chalet Basque, and all four of us truly enjoyed our meals. I had the Beef Bourguignon and it was hearty and tasty. Chalet Basque keeps getting better and better. It is one of our go-to places in Marin.
Great neighborhood restaurant and bar serving good French and Basque country food.
These comments are directed to the manager. Thanksgiving dinner was a disaster. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were out of a box. The yams out of a can. The turkey was dry as can be no taste. Dressing was the worst I ever tasted and the cream spinachwas full of garlic way too much. The only thing I can say was good was the soup and salad and the dessert Drew the waiter wasvery good. My wife and I did not have a good Thanksgiving dinner.
Wonderful!! We had a little booth in the bar. Service was spot on and everyone was very nice. I started with the Escargot. Very tender and perfectly seasoned. My entree, Scampi a la Plancha was fabulous! Also flawless. And served with fresh spinach and augratin potatoes. I wiped the plate clean with their sourdough bread! Excellent bar and beverage choices. A favorite!
