The best way I can describe Island Prime is unexpected excellence. The staff were courteous and our waitress was the ultimate balance of professional and fun. With each new plate the food was expression of flavor with every bite. The ambience was cozy, with beautiful views of the water, bay activities and sunset View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Island Prime:
This place has a great view and great staff. We had the Wagyu and we wanted it cooked medium rare cam a little more medium and the meat was tough. It did mot melt in your mouth like it should have. And at $75 for a 12oz steak not worth the price. The sides were good. View all feedback.
The food was fantastic. Definitely get the bone in ribeye. Beautiful location right by the bay.
Food is good. It should be good at these prices. Portions are all fancy small so you will still be hungry. Last time I was there with a group of about 9 people. Our server just kinda ghosted us, so we had to sit around a bit with empty beer glasses and cocktails. Food is fine, service wasn't great so ill probably recommend somewhere else next time. At $50+ per person during happy hour there are a lot of other good options out there.
One of my favorite places to eat when I'm in San Diego. The food is always top-notch, the service is always excellent and you can't beat the atmosphere. Right on the water anytime of the day it's great to be there.
Everything was phenomenal!! Great service, amazing food, and beautiful scenery. I would recommend this to anyone visiting San Diego and wanting a nice place to go eat or celebrate an occasion. Enjoyed the bread and butter along with the FRESH Caesar salad! We ordered the dinner special for two to share with a 40 oz steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. After I got a DIVINE flourless chocolate cake on the house to enjoy after my meal for my birthday. EXCEPTIONAL Colin was also an amazing server!!
Wonderful experience and excellent food. The portions are a little too big but I realize that may be a silly complaint. Stay is amazing and the views are awesome.
