We spent a very good moment in the restaurant Riedenburg, where we received a warm welcome. The food was fresh and delicious, the decoration was refined. A special thanks to the staff who were here to give us a great lunch. I hope we have the opportunity to come back.
What a wonderful culinary experience! One of the owners, Daniel, has inherited us through an exquisite evening of Austrian cuisine. We started with a baby shrimp and caviar amuse boules, which we paired with a very delicious French champagne. Then we had a filled Calamari appetizer that Daniel paired with an Austrian Sauvignon Blanc for us. We ordered soup as next course. Linda had a fabulous pumpkin soup and I had a delicious traditional Austrian cream soup with Prosciutto. Daniel paired these with two different Austrian white wines from the same grape varieties. We both ordered the house speciality oxtail with a celery bread served with a traditional Austrian landfill. This time, Daniel has paired our hearty dish with very large Austrian red, which was a bit of a Bordeaux-style wine. We had a very nice evening and we are totally impressed by this beautiful restaurant.
The 5-course menu was absolutely delicious. Very good wine selection. Exceptionally pleasant service. Certainly one of the best gourmet restaurants in Salzburg and our new favorite place!
