Clear Creek Market - Salt Lick

We were excited for a nice breakfast, but unfortunately, we missed it because breakfast ends at 10:30 on Sundays. After that, we had to wait 20 minutes for the lunch staff to show up. The food was enjoyable, but the service was rather slow.

I dropped in for a quick and tasty burger paired with a chocolate shake.

I cannot recommend this restaurant! I ordered a catfish dish along with some cheese fries. The portion of fish was disappointingly small, and to make things worse, the cheese fries were topped with melted shredded cheese instead of nacho cheese—who does that?! My wife was equally dissatisfied with her meal. When it came time to pay, I found that I was charged excessively. I had to inform the woman at the register that the total was wrong. She responded with a bit of attitude and went to check with the manager. When she returned, she corrected the total, which ended up being almost $8 less than what I was initially charged, but there was no apology offered. To top it off, the prices didn't even match those listed on the menu!

I visited this place after a 16-mile backpacking trip and tried the chili and grilled cheese. Both were incredibly delicious! The owner was also very friendly.

This is a wonderful little camp store that offers delicious grilled food and has incredibly friendly staff!
