The restaurant is located in a beautiful area and tends to be less crowded, which is nice. However, it is somewhat pricey compared to other options. That said, the experience of being at the top makes it worthwhile. View all feedback.
What Chloe van de Velde doesn't like about The Refectory:
I entered a bustling yet charming cathedral cafe. I intended to order soup for myself and my mom, and a panini for my dad. Unfortunately, we weren't attended to at all and had to flag down a staff member for assistance. They asked if we wanted the panini toasted, only to inform us that the toaster was out of order. Overall, the staff came across as rude and disinterested, serving others who arrived after us while we... View all feedback.
Cream tea was great. The glass roof offers a view of the cathedral. If you're lucky there isn't too much going on there. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
There was room to sit and enjoy our food and the overall atmosphere was jolly. My two gripes are that 1. The vegetable soup tasted horrible 2. The cutlery was noticeably dirty (evidence of previous meal on them) and I had to search through the cutlery boxes for clean-ish items. I raised #2 with the Manager whose defence was that the dishwasher had been refilled with clean water at the start of the (cathedral) service. Obviously it has become dirty rather quickly or the wash cycle was too short. Didn’t inspire confidence.
Good quality food and a fine place to enjoy a meal with Australian friends from Pymble NSW who were part of the visiting Choir. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £10–20
We decided to stay for lunch at Salisbury Cathedral. A good English lunch. The ceiling is stained glass and you could see a good part of the Cathedral. Very beautiful. And the food is very good. We chose macaroni typical of the area and pork in the oven with vegetables and with a spiced bread also in the oven. Rich A good stop after seeing the magnificence of the Cathedral. Food: 5
