Very high quality and interesting food, with a wide choice of wine, quite a bit by the glass. Clearly a great chef and kitchen staff, with professional serving staff. I particularly enjoyed both of the fish dishes stonefish and sea bass and the lovely sauces that came with them. A standout choice in Salisbury. Keep it up! **Dining Experience**: Lunch **Food Rating**: 5/5 **Service Rating**: 5/5 **Atmosphere Rating**: 4/5 I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant! The food was exceptional, earning a perfect score of 5. The service was also outstanding and attentive, deserving another 5. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, though I would rate it a 4, as there’s room for a little improvement. Overall, a delightful experience!

The food here is of high quality, but the portion sizes are somewhat inconsistent and on the smaller side. Unfortunately, the service does not meet expectations. The welcoming experience leaves much to be desired, as there is a lack of attention to customers. Waitstaff do not approach the table after serving the dishes, fail to explain what’s on the plates, and seem more focused on the bar than attending to guests. They also do not offer the menu, which is disappointing. In summary, while the cuisine is inventive and well-prepared, the service is lacking. Service: Dine in.
Alium is all about food, the decor is a bit bland, service is good enough (and not irritatingly showy as some foody places are). But the food is exceptional, especially at this price point. Between two, we shared 4 small plates and a shared assiette of desserts plus a decent bottle of wine for a shade over £50 each. Each dish was fine dining quality, the confit duck with mango and curried sweet potato puree was exceptional as was one of the best cooked fillet of mullet I have ever had (beautifully crispy skin and fall apart moist flesh served with a bisque). I liked the small plate menu with the expectation of sharing, which means you end up with your own custom tasting menu, I would have struggled to choose just one dish. People with large appetites would probably want a plate or 2 more than we had, but with each dish around £10 hardly bank breaking. If you want imaginative uncompromisingly good food without pretension, this is the place
Imaginative, excellent dishes with a very good choice of wine and beer. The experience is like tapas, in that you select enough options so that there are sbout 2 per person at the table, and then everyone shares them.
