Sulle Onde Della Colline - SALERNO

We stayed in the B&B Sulle Onde Della Collina (which we also highly recommend, by the way) where we arrived late in the afternoon. We decided to have diner there too, being too tired to go round looking for another place. Even though we thought ... diner in a B&B ... well ... you know ... But what a surprise! The food was really first class, from ingredients of highest quality and freshness. In fact, the menu is based on what chef Danilo finds fresh on that very day. This is how restaurants should be working, rather than offering the same menu each day using frozen stuff. Small but excellent wine collection. Homemade digestif. Absolutely adequate price. Having stayed in the area for nearly a week, we ate in other restaurants too, but honestly, none compared to this one.

We were compleatly spoilt by the hosts of this restaurant we had the choice of fish or meat, both were fabulously cooked, one could eat outside or in and family run. Fantastic.

My husband and myself were completely bowled over initially by the location of this amazing rural retreat. Apart from the fact that it is also a great base from which to discover the National Park of Cilento, the restaurant is in itself a complete experience. Dannillo, the proprietor, has managed to use prime local produce and coupled with his expertise and creativity, serves wonderfully interesting dishes. We so enjoyed our meal, the advised choice of wine and a local liqueur outside on the breathtaking terrace, under the moonlight, completed a fantastic evening. Definitely to be repeated and great advertsiement for the lovely Cilento.
