I wonder why this restaurant has so many negative reviews. I chose it as it was close to our hotel and had pizze for the children as well as other Italian specialities. Everyone was pleased with their order. The salads were fresh and crisp. The...service was fast and friendly and the house wine was good average. It is family run by mother and son and there is a framed photo of grandad on the wall. View all feedback.
What Vitalba Santoro doesn't like about Al Caminetto:
it would have helped if the menu in English and Italian as pete is a vegetarian, but this was sorted at the end and the pizzas we had were particularly impressive as the cost were low, including for the wein. it looks like being a family business that would explain why two children chasing around the restaurant that many people would stand out! Some things were ok, but have a look at carbonara. Coagulated eggs, nothing like real carbonara.
Stay away from this place. They served us a tasteless pizza with canned mushrooms.
Bad experience. the cutlery and dishes were all dirty and eating took over 45 minutes to get in. When our food arrived, the waiter offered us a dish that said it would be on the house, but as soon as the reward arrived, we noticed how he had accused us of the same court. overall the food was ordered, but the service was very bad.
The waiter was not polite at all. the dishes we wanted to order were not available and when we asked for the bill, the restaurant owners wanted to pay us more for the food than they had presented on the menu. as we kindly said something about it, they started screaming in Italian and cursed us to the people who stand next to us. the food was in order, but we recommend this place absolutely no one!
