When open, fish is good, but they don 't stick to a schedule it seems. I came here for a birthday meal at 4pm on a Friday and was disappointed they 're not open. The posted hours at the truck and on Google say they 're open 11-9 and yet they aren 't. Itseems this happens a lot. Maybe post hours as whenever would be better?
The fish and chips were delicious! The batter was a good consistency and the fish was really flaky, I added a side of shrimp and they were really good and crispy. The employees were super sweet and very helpful answering all of my questions! If you arewanting some good fish and chips I definitely recommend stopping by! They are working out in the heat and then in the coldwinters and still have an amazing attitude!
The fish and chips were amazing. I am not a big fish fan but this was good. I wish they wouldn't have ran out of coleslaw I was hoping to give it a try. Maybe next time I am in the area. The tarter sauce wad made with Dill it was awesome on the fishand fries.
UPDATE: ALTHOUGH THE PLACE IS OPEN, AT LEAST THE TIME I WENT BACK, THEY ARE NOW SUBSTITUTING TRUE COD FOR THE HALIBUT THAT THEY USED TO USE. THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE PRICE EQUATES THE QUALITY OF FISH. First, the only reason this place gets two stars isbecause of the fish, it 's amazing. That being said this place is unreliable and has a lot to learn in the realm of customerservice. Their hours are clearly stated on the front of their food truck but they don 't adhere to them. The cooks andrepresentatives are short and very condescending. God help whoever has a issue with their order... Thankfully I never did butthat 's because I rarely get to order I 'm sure. I 've attempted to buy from this store a total of five times. I was onlysuccessful twice. This last time the worker was in the store, lights on, open sign lit, fryer still cooking and the guy saidthey were closed. 645pm (well within their stated hours of operation} and this dude is done (his words). I strongly recommendthat someone with a competitive spirit and desire pick up this idea and run with it because it 's a potential gold mine, if onlyit was run by committed and interested entrepreneurs. In summation, come here only if you have a backup plan. Do not rely on itbeing open and be ready for good food, but only if you 're lucky enough to catch them. Be ready for an argument if there isanything wrong with your order. Good luck
We were craving fish and chips, so we called this restaurant and heard a recorded message stating they were open until 8 PM. After driving ten miles to The Yard in Salem, we were disappointed to find it closed. The hours displayed on the outside of the restaurant also indicated an 8 PM closing time, yet we arrived at 5:30 PM. Other nearby Yard locations mentioned that Baja's hours can be unpredictable. If you're in the mood for fish and chips, I recommend going a bit farther to Battered Fish and Chips; it's worth the extra miles. A suggestion for Baja: if you're going to be closed, please update your phone message and online listings so customers are accurately informed. Also, ensure that your posted hours of operation are correct.
