Decided to sit down and order coffee only to be rudely asked to leave immediately by an incredibly aggressive owner. Any decency to the following exchange was immediately lost, despite the fact we had left the property, as he started to use Italian swear words, repeatedly giving the middle finger while screaming, all while others were watching in complete shock. We will take the appropriate consequences to deal with this, including the physical roughing up by the restaurant owner, but in the meantime wish to warn other travelers to stay away from this place at all costs. There are numerous places within a few meters with friendly service and great food, do not risk ruining your getaway like we did by going here.

It doesn’t have air-conditioning and I found... read more I stayed for two nights in this very pleasant lake-front hotel. My room was very large and the bed was comfortable. It doesn’t have air-conditioning and I found the fan insufficient to cool me down in the afternoon but I was unwell and wouldn’t normally have been in at that time. The view from the window was breath-taking and I loved watching the sunrise both mornings over the lake. It’s a great little spot to sit and watch Lake Como wake up and begin its day, and there are several nice walks around the hotel. Note that there are few footpaths in the nearby towns and as the day gets busier walking along the roads becomes more hazardous! I would not recommend the breakfast as it is not good value for money. It begins at 8am and both mornings I was down at 8:05 and all the hot food was gone. My room was exceptionally clean. Staff were friendly. The WIFI was very slow and I preferred to use mobile data. It is a little noisy in the mornings at this time of year. However, none of this really mattered when the view was this good. Really good value!

The onion soup wa... read more Chose to have our meal on our first night at our hotel, it was amazing, beautiful lake view, delicious food and wine and very attentive staff. The onion soup was stunning, a meal in itself, the mains of beef and salmon were equally lovely. Such a wonderful start to our Como experience.

The room itself was spacious as was the bathr... read more Excellent location right in the centre of lake Como with a sweeping view of the lake from the terrace of our room. The room itself was spacious as was the bathroom. Buffet breakfast was provided and they also had a nice restaurant. There was a ferry service available close by to the hotel but not very frequent easiest to drive to mennagio for a more frequent service. The only cons were the lack of a kettle and tea or coffee in the room as well as the lack of a cooler or fan as it was quite warm in June, probably hotter in peak tourist months. Otherwise pretty good.
