Contribute Feedback What Daniel L likes about Violet Angel:
This is one of my go-to place to take out-of-town guests in Ste-Anne. Everybody loves pizza and Violet Angel makes great pizzas (the Heart Attack is my favorite) and calzones. It is a quick and affodable place for business lunches and in the summer, the patio is great with a nice view of the water and a large tree in the middle to provide some shade. View all feedback.
What Laetitia Cousin doesn't like about Violet Angel:
had a reservation for 8 4 of us arrived and waited 15 min and no one came to the table to asked if we would like something to drink while waiting for the other to arrive,we had to tell the waiter to serve us drinks.overall food is good but the service sucks...they talk more to each other instead of taking care of there guest. Came in by boat and came across this restaurant by chance. I have to say that it was a sunny Sunday, musician playing 150 feet away, tons of boats and people. The Vibe was amazing already. Walked inside the resto and it was a great feel. Tons of seating and very clean. We walked out onto the patio and felt immediately comfortable and at home. Half the deck is sheltered by vines with shrubs and trees all around. A good view of the water and people walking on the board walk.We all ordered different things and some were special changes to the standard menu. The waitress didn't bat an eyelid, she took the changes in stride and didn't faze her at all. The food was fantastic and the price was very reasonable.I suggest you eat here and see what you think.
I just left the restaurant after having lunch with two friends at the Violet Angel. I am vegetarian and ordered the spinach salad. This salad usually is served with either shrimp or chicken. I requested some protein to replace the shrimp/chicken. The waitress asked me if I would like goat cheese. I agreed. My two friends ordered the lunch special of half a pizza plus a salad. My lunch salad was the same size as theirs. The small bowl was filled with baby spinach leaves. There were a few pieces of red onion and several shavings of Gruyere cheese. There were 3 tablespoons of goat cheese on top. The dressing was swimming in the bottom of the bowl. Then came the cheque. My salad was 4 dollars more than their meal. I had been charged an extra $3.50 for the goat cheese. Nowhere was it written on the menu that there was an extra charge for substitutions. When I reviewed the menu, the lunch salad was $13.50. On the regular menu the spinach salad came in two sizes: $9 or $13. It seems odd (1) why the lunch salad costs more (2) why the lunch salad is so small when it is presented as a meal, not an appetizer or a salad. I just had a piece of toast and cheese as I left the restaurant hungry.
We enjoyed a lovely meal here, with wonderful and friendly service. We ordered 2 pizzas, both delicious, one with meat and one without. Also had a Caesar salad which was large enough for four to share. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and so we sat inside. But we did go for a walk along the canal after our meal. Lovely area and such friendly people.
