Had lunch at The Saint Paul Grill today. Always a special treat. Our group ordered crab cake, salmon, and the black and blue burger. We followed up with the apple crisp for dessert. The quality was top-notch. The only request is for two crab cakes (like they used to) not just one. The restaurant was hopping--a vibrant energy but not too loud. I wish I got the server's name because he did such an awesome job. Attentiv... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The St. Paul Grill:
The food quality definitely took a hit after the pandemic. However, the level of service remains very good. Our group went here for dinner (part of Restaurant Week). The interesting thing about the special Dinner menu is: a choice of salad, steak (no other option for entree), and dessert. If you're vegetarian, vegan or pescaterian, you must order a la carte. I had lunch at The Saint Paul Grill today, and it was a delightful experience as always. Our group ordered the crab cake, salmon, and the black and blue burger, and we topped it off with apple crisp for dessert. The quality of the food was exceptional. My only suggestion would be to bring back serving two crab cakes instead of just one like they used to. The restaurant was lively, with a vibrant atmosphere that was bustling but not overly loud. I really wish I had caught the name of our server, as he provided outstanding service—attentive, sincere, and courteous. Overall, it was another fantastic dining experience.
The St. Paul Grill provides a remarkable dining experience, and our server, Lindsey, was outstanding! We indulged in a diverse selection of food and drinks, including appetizers, cocktails, steaks, and martinis. I chose the 18 oz New York strip cooked medium rare, and it was fantastic—the steak had a lovely smoky char on the outside and was cooked to perfection. We also ordered several sides: calamari, fries, and onion rings. The portions for both the sides and appetizers were quite generous, making sharing a breeze.
The quality of the food has certainly declined since the pandemic, but the service continues to be excellent. Our group visited for dinner during Restaurant Week. The special dinner menu is quite simple, offering a choice of salad, steak (with no other entrée options), and dessert. If you're vegetarian, vegan, or pescatarian, you’ll need to order à la carte. The Sorrentino cocktail was enjoyable, but the seafood stew didn't leave a lasting impression. I've definitely had better bouillabaisse or cioppino elsewhere.
The staff at The St Paul Grill went over and above to make a wonderful date night! The Service was wonderful: The Oysters Lobster were amazingly delicious!! And the Steaks were cooked to perfection!!?? That evening and fabulous meal made us remember why we loved taking our Family to the St Paul Grill year after year for our Holiday Tradition! We can?t wait to come back again in December ????
Whenever we are in town, we have lunch or dinner at the St. Paul Grill in the Saint Paul Hotel. The restaurant is elegant, and the staff is top notch. The food is well-prepared and delicious. During our latest visit for lunch, we had the walleye pike and a BLT with fries. Both were very good.
