I have been going there for years, and love their food. They recently changed owners, and the cooking is now even better. Ingredients are fresh and the vegetables are cooked al dente. The interior may leave a bit to be desired, but in my opinion, the food more than makes up for it. You'll love it! View all feedback.
What Todd Oesterreich doesn't like about New York Chinese Restaurant:
Ordered the Basil Beef. There were little bits of basil leaves scattered throughout the dish. Despite that, the dish overall had no hint of basil. If you hunted out some of these bits of basil leaves, you could manufacture a bit of basil flavor. Put it this way, if you know what basil tastes like, and this dish was offered up to you sight unseen, you would never guess it was a basil dish. Which is about all that need... View all feedback.

Unimpressive, rundown decor, have to buy water, and not really a much cheaper option, 14.00 after tip for mei fun and the bottle of water.

I just started working in Mendota Heights and the selection of Asian food in this area is a bit sparse. I used Bing to find this place and I am glad that I gave them a try! The food was very good. The place is a bit dated (par for many restaurants like this), but it was clean, the proprietor was friendly, and they were prompt. I will definitely try more items on their menu; today was the Kung Pao Chicken along with a couple Thai-style egg/spring rolls.
Great family-ownedThey have been in this area for a long timeSuper nice and friendlyThe food is amazingI normally get the same thingLol.
