read moreLouis, located on the upper level of a building in downtown St. Paul, was expected to be an upscale dining establishment but has now transformed into a casual sports bar setting with TVs. The prices remain high, especially for entrees, but the menu offers a variety of options. While some dishes received mixed reviews, such as the short ribs lacking flavor, the salads were a highlight for many. The deck offers a great view of the river, although the full menu is not available there. The service was generally good, with a few hiccups reported. Overall, Louis seems to excel in cocktails and appetizers while providing a lively atmosphere. It may be worth a return visit for drinks and light bites to enjoy the view.
