Brigade - Saint Paul

Highly recommended! I had the wild boar bourguignon, and it was unbelievably tender. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and provided great recommendations for the menu. I will definitely be back!

The restaurant wasn't as crowded as we anticipated, and the noise level on Thursday night was quite reasonable. I tried the hangar steak, which was tender and flavorful. However, I wasn't asked how I’d like it cooked, so it arrived medium rare and was a bit too rare for my taste at the center. My friends ordered the hunch and thought it could have been cooked a bit longer, as they found it challenging to get all the meat off the bones. On a positive note, the sides were fantastic— the wild mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, and beet salad were all excellent. We found the prices to be quite high, especially since three small French rolls cost $4, which seemed excessive. After reading about the noise levels on weekends, we're unsure if we want to return.

We really enjoy this restaurant on quieter nights, but we'll probably avoid it on Saturday nights due to the noise level.

Once we actually found the restaurant, we really enjoyed ourselves! It is very difficult to locate it because of the huge Papst Blue Ribbon beer sign that sits above instead of something that tells you it’s actually Bar Brigade. We were there on Halloween, so there weren’t very many people. The place is small, and I assume if it gets full there is probably a lot of noise to contend with. But I can’t say for sure because we were there on a very slow night. (Thank goodness!

Our first meal at Bar Brigade but it won’t be our last. Good cocktails, app and entree. Good prices and stellar service. Solid A!
