Breadworks - Saint Matthews
Breadworks
Description
Tucked into a neighborhood shopping center, this artisanal bakery serves daily-fresh loaves, inventive monthly breads, standout pastries (notably cinnamon rolls and bear claws) and rich coffee. With cozy indoor/outdoor seating, convenient parking and a friendly, knowledgeable team, it’s a local favorite that donates unsold goods each day. Generous portions and pantry finds next door add appeal. Limited seating and occasional staffing lapses can frustrate visitors, but the quality and variety keep customers coming back.

Breadworks is the bakery you want to visit if you're looking for something new every time! They offer a fantastic variety of pastries, bagels, and coffee, along with a selection of unique monthly bread flavors like apricot and raspberry. Everything is baked fresh each morning, and any unsold food is donated to those in need. The only downside is that there's limited seating, but aside from that, this is my favorite bakery in Louisville!
This restaurant offers generous portions of bread, delicious pastries, and excellent coffee, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Convenient parking is right at the entrance. The staff are fantastic, making the experience even better. What’s not to love? It's my favorite coffee spot in the city!
I visited the store hoping to pick up some bagels. I arrived around 7:40 and waited for more than six minutes trying to get the attention of one of the workers, who I could hear chatting in the back. Unfortunately, no one came out to assist me, and I eventually decided to leave and go to another bakery. I've always had great experiences at Bardstown Breadworks in the past, but I'm not sure I'll return after this visit.
What a great little bakery! My son and I ducked into Breadworks last week, and I was so impressed. It was later in the day, but there were still some great treats to look at. I ended up getting a chocolate chip cookie for my son and an apricot scone for me. The cookie was soft and tasted freshly baked. While my son likes pretty much any cookie put in front of him, I can say this one did not last long after we got home. Happily, I was able to sneak a bite before it disappeared. And my scone was great as well. It was soft, and I liked the sugar on top and fruit inside. Breadworks also has, well, bread. Looking forward to returning to buy a loaf ... or five. And the clerk was so friendly and nice to me and my son. She also came out from behind the counter to help me get the door when my hands were full. Don't overlook Breadworks.
