Cantine Chez Mel - Saint-Jacques

I visited this restaurant while traveling and was pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the portion sizes were generous. I will definitely dine here again when passing through.

This fast food restaurant offers exceptional food at great prices. Despite being located in a French-speaking area, the staff also speak English. I tried the hot chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I would definitely come back here again.

Chez Mel's is a wonderful spot to enjoy burgers, pizza, and other delicious food, topped off with ice cream cones during the warmer months. I visited for the first time in January and was not surprised to find it closed for the season, with snow piled up at the entrance. Despite the disappointment, I still highly recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area. If you're lucky, you may even be served by the lovely Stephanie who always greets you with a big smile. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I drive home from Halifax several times a year and Edmunston NB seems to be a good stop to or from Toronto. I was staying nearby at Auberges Les Jardins when I spied this place and the activity around the take out window. Always a good sign. The menu is conspicuously displayed in English and French and it was difficult to make a decision from all the possibilities. I went for the double cheeseburger and fries that also had a salad of coleslaw with it. After six or more hours on the highway from Halifax I didn't waste too much time going through the crisp fries and onto the burger then salad. One of my most delicious burger meals in memory, but the fries were great as well. I had a minute to talk to the young lady running the take-out window and she said I was lucky the supper crowd had already left and the ice cream crowd hadn't arrived. With that, a guy peddled up on his bike and started the ice cream requests before I could leave the deck. The food is great, the staff is efficient and delightful and prices more than reasonable. Try it, you'll like it.
