Travelling up from Barcelona we wanted an overnig... read more Tourists always visit France with the hope that they will stumble across a hidden gem of a restaurant. We did! Travelling up from Barcelona we wanted an overnight stop with a nice dinner. We had intended stopping in Millau but decided to press on further. As phone data was switched off, we had to rely on the local Office de Tourisme. They sent us to l'Ander. When we checked in we were able to use their free WiFi to check TA for comments. They are correct! The meal was probably the best food we had on a three week holiday touring France and Spain. The hotel isn't fancy nor in the greatest location but that is reflected in the reasonable price. As others have commented, Madame does come over as a wee bit dour in the restaurant but that's just because she's concentrating on getting it right. When at the reception she was friendly and helpful. Monsieur likewise is quite a quiet guy but in the kitchen he is a magician! We would definitely return to l'Ander and would recommend it for an overnight stop. If you are in the area, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
