What User doesn't like about Restaurant L'Impressionniste:
The wine prices... even more than 3 time thé SAQ price... it's a bit too much for me and I like some good wine so I have paid 140$ for a bottle worth 45$.... the food was alright, at best! Nothing special... I have ordered the ravioli app to start and I got a fried wonton stuffed with dried meat... my steak was ok but it was served with zucchini and raw bok choï.... won't go back! The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, personnel was polite and friendly, the meals were excellent and the prices aligned with the quality.
First time experience in the restaurant. Interesting menu. Food is good and well presented. The service was flawless. The ambiance was nice. The owner meets every guests and makes them feel at home..They also have an extensive choice of wines. I recommend this restaurant. Easy access lots of parking.
We went this restaurant two years ago. During that time, the service was good, the food was excellent. So, it left me a really good impression. Last week, I took my boss and colleagues to the restaurant again. Everything has changed. There was almost no service. The mature man was rude and looked like we owed him money. No one came to our table during the whole dining only when they took the courses to us. The taste of the food is definitely worse then before and seemed cooked in a whole batch. To me, all of this is truly bad, but somehow still tolerable. But the following stuffs are disgusting. The mature waiter took the bill to us with an amount of tips already added on the bill. Then, HOW DARE the mature waiter ask us if we would like to add more tips!!! He told us that he forgot to count our beers and drinks for tips! Okay! Give he insisted this, I was more than willing and added an extra $5 to the bill to accommodate this poor mature beggar. I hope this mature guy can be aware his rudeness and improve the service of his restaurant once he saw this. Earn money from guests is your business but you have to make your guests feel satisfied to spend time and money in your restaurant. Otherwise, I would rather to donate my money out!
This owner-operator restaurant offers a wide range of meats including venison, duck, etc. Wine list offers reasonably priced choices. Menu is elaborate and also includes sampling choices from entrees to desert either three or four course meals.
I cannot say enough about how fantastic this restaurant is. This was our third visit. We have only ever been here with a coupon. I know that some people believe it to be expensive but I think that the prices reflect the value of the food. I know that we only go when we have a coupon, but otherwise we would not be able to afford to dine here. We made a 7pm reservation the night before and when we arrived, our table was ready. We had a lovely, romantic corner table. Shortly after we were seated, another couple arrived and were given the table behind us. Bread, pàté and pickles were brought and we each ordered a glass of their house chardonnay which is very good. The menu was brought and explained as far as what was included in the coupon. I ordered the mushroom profiterole and my husband ordered the escargot in puff pastry as our entrées. They were both divine. Next the soup was served which was a combination of squash and something green that I didn't catch the name of but was very, very good. And served hot, which is extremely important. Unfortunately, the couple behind my husband and of whom I had an unavoidable view, both were glued to their cell phones more or less the entire meal. When they weren't looking at their phones, the man kept craning his body across the table to kiss his partner, but in a very intimate and demonstrative way. I could clearly see their tongues entwined, and they continued to engage in this behaviour throughout the meal. The only escape for us was when the couple left after their main course to go outside for a cigarette. Some people don't know when they should just order room service and not subject others to their blatant intimacy. There was also another table of six people across the room from us who were extremely loud to the point that I could hear exactly what they were talking about. For a higher scale restaurant people shouldn't behave as if they are at their local brasserie shouting across the table at each other. Neither of these issues have anything whatsoever to do with the service or level of cuisine but were part of our general dining experience. These were the only drawbacks to an otherwise very enjoyable evening. For the main course, my husband ordered the lamb shank and I had the chicken. Both were beyond delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and all of their sauces are exquisite. The dessert was a pre selected layered raspberry mousse cake. It was good but I think had I had the opportunity, it would not have been my first choice. The service was perfect. The owner of the restaurant is a classy gentleman. We will definitely be back. Please note that there is a service charge included in the bill so beware of that before you leave your gratuity. To be fair, this was pointed out to us when the bill was presented.
