I just learned that Preserved has closed its doors. I'm not sure why. This was my favorite restaurant in St. Augustine. The food and service was always exceptional. The restaurant always seemed to be busy, and even survived COVID in 2020. I hope the closure is only temporary.

Let me say we are just too disappointed we were not able to get back to Preserved for a second time. It was our first meal in St. Augustine and we should have made another reservation the first night. The menu changes seasonally and depending on what is available. There were a few things I planned on having that I had seen in pictures that were not available, but the current menu did not disappoint! The oysters and the accompaniments were like food from the Gods! Don’t really like arugula, but their salad and the dressing was perfect! I had Mussels and their house cut fries, which were addictive! My husband had the New York Strip steak which he said was exceptional! My husband doesn’t like asparagus but he Loved their asparagus with mushrooms (minus the bacon). Dessert—crème brûlée-Wonderful! The place is in historic African-American neighborhood of Lincolnville in a beautiful home with a lovely porch and garden. Everything about this experience was lovely. The staff is nice and very well trained. I can’t say enough.

AMAZING service and food. Stewart and Nina were SO nice. Probably the best hostesses i’ve ever had.

We ate outside in a lovely garden, where they kindly placed umbrellas on the hedges to give us shade. The difficulty here was the inability to make accommodations to the food for allergies. The waitress was attentive, but aloof or distant. I did notenjoy the food selections nor the food. Would not return.

The food was absolutely delicious! Perfectly prepared with local ingredients and beautifully presented. The crème brûlée was the best I’ve had. The charcuterie board is huge and definitely enough for up to four people to snack off of. For the qualitythe pricing is what you’d expect—but worth every penny. I encourage making reservations as the dining room is very small andit fills up fast.
