My wife and I live in the island and have been to this restaurant many times. Until recently, it was great! Always consistently good food and great service. I don’t know what’s happened but the service and food quality have gone downhill. A few weeksago I got my usual salmon dinner. But it was dry and not all that tasted. Later that night I got really sick. A couple of weekslater I called for 2 pizzas for pick up. They told me to pick them up in 20 minutes. I gave them 30. When I got there they toldme they forgot to put in the order. You’d think they would have comped me for the mistake but no, they charged me full price. Not cool.
Was a great atmosphere for dining, the music and lighting made dinner much more enjoyable. The food was by far the best part, with each course being paced perfectly, and each bite tasting better. Meara gave amazing service and was on the ball all night!
A few different points to cover: 1. Ambiance: HOT! I 'm not sure if the AC was broken but it was SO HOT I could not enjoy my food. 2. Service: They accept more people than they are able to properly serve and attend. Be ready to wait for food, refills, and attention general. My mom had to get out of her seat and look for someone on 3 different occasions. The first was for salt pepper. The server practically threw the salt pepper on the table without stopping. The second was for a refill, and when itfinally arrived it was the wrong drink so she asked for the correct one, which never arrived. Lastly, the third was to pay, still had to wait tonfind someone to take our payment before we could leave. 3. Food: We started with the grilled octopusappetizer, although I will say the octopus was good, it should be called a salad. The main ingredient was the salad, NOT theoctopus. The plate consisted of 6-7 small bitesize pieces of octopus on a bed of salad. We then had a caprese which was good. Not great, not bad, just good. My mom had the Papardelle Ragu, she took a bite, and left the rest. The pasta noodles were harderthan 'al dente ' and the sauce was just not good (I also tasted the dish and had the same thoughts). Lastly, I had the GrilledPorkchop, the flavors were nice and overall a good dish, my one feedback is that I thought it was a tad overcooked thereforeharder/more chewy than I prefer, the broccoli and mashed potatoes were great! Overall, it is pricier than what it 's worth.Would not go back nor order out, and would not recommend.
It had been awhile since we dined at this local restaurant and we wanted to go back for date night . We started with a wood fire focaccia basket to have with a glass of Prosecco and a glass of wine from the bottle we had brought to have with our meals. We like that the restaurant allows you to bring a special bottle for a $15 corkage fee. I had Tagliatelle Boscaiola (handmade tagliatelle, pancetta, porcini mushrooms, plum tomato sugo cream). The entree was delicious but I had inquired with our server, last time I had this dish, the portion was considerably more. The server advised that they had a new chef so perhaps consider either using a smaller plate or increasing the portion and adjust the price. He had the 12oz. grilled pork chop (fontina, crispy pancetta, truffle mash and broccolini) but for a slight upcharge he requested asparagus instead of the broccolini. For dessert, I had a Tres Palline di Gelato and he had a Limoncello flute. After dessert we each had a double espresso.
We used to be big fans of Terra & Acqua, but unfortunately, the quality and service have declined. My husband ordered the 12-ounce grilled pork chop, as listed on the menu, but what he received were two small pieces of pork on a bed of mashed potatoes. We're not sure if it even added up to 12 ounces. While one piece was cooked well, the other was burnt and very thin. The vegetables were cold, and so were the mashed potatoes, which we sent back. He then opted for a pizza but was disappointed once more. It's disheartening to see this place fall from grace. The service was slow, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. We won’t be coming back.
