The crepes were delicious, the service was excellent. This wonderful belgium creperie is located in a heritage house. I will certainly go back. Très belle découverte sur la rive sud du fleuve St-Laurent. View all feedback.
While traveling through the hip Quebec towns, we stumbled upon the hidden gem of Saint Antoine de Tilly and the charming Crepes Bretonne restaurant within. We tried the Smoked Salmon Crepe, Ham and Cheese Crepe, and Duck Crepe, all of which were delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant, housed in an 18th century building and operated by the owners, added to the experience. They also offer organic local products such as jam and butter for sale - we particularly enjoyed the rose petal marmalade. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
Go! Have the Buckwheat crepes. You will not be sorry. Cute place but tiny. The dessert crepes were also delicious. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
While driving from Montreal to Quebec City, we decided to stop for lunch at a small village called Saint Antoine de Tilly. Thanks to a positive review we read, we made the effort to visit the restaurant, despite arriving too late the first time. The restaurant is quaint and can seat around 16-17 people inside and more outside during warm weather. Two women handle the cooking and serving, specializing in traditional Bretonne crepes made with whole wheat or buckwheat flour. My wife enjoyed a crepe with goat cheese, tomato, ham, and pesto, while I had a classic crepe with egg, ham, gouda, and tomato. Both were delicious. For dessert, we each had an apple and caramel crepe. I also ordered a large cafe au lait served in a bowl reminiscent of a French film. The restaurant was bustling on a Saturday, but we were lucky to snag a table without waiting, though reservations are accepted. After lunch, we explored the charming village and took some photos. This experience was a highlight of our trip!
We stopped by Saint Antoine de Tilly to have a look around the church and cemetery (my family lived here some generations ago). Just across the street from the church, we noticed some people were dining outdoors of a cute little house. That is how we came across this wonderful creperie. This is a small place with as much seating outside in nice weather as in the dining room (which has 4 or 5 tables). They do the most flavorful crepes I've ever had. There was one young lady preparing these works of art two at a time, made to order. She does not even pre-slice the tomatoes! The ingredients are all fresh from the garden and vary according to the season. It being lunch time, I had the bruschetta crepe with ham, cheese and tomatoes, my wife had a similar crepe with chevre and pesto. The crepes themselves are of the perfect texture and the farm fresh ingredients make for a winning combination. My only regret is that I was too full to try a dessert crepe. I had never heard of Chez Swann and could have easily overlooked the place driving by. Little discoveries such as this are what it's all about!
