Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks

Chicken steak is made from chicken breast, please don’t be too wild. The braised pork rice is tasteless. I suggest you go back to the main store in Shilin and become an apprentice again.

Be prepared for a long wait on the weekends. We were hungry from shopping but didn't want to have a full meal and still want some proteins..... We ended up trying their fried mushrooms as a healthier option (its fried but healthier than those sugary sweets around the area). They were crisp and delicious! Seasoning was a bit spicy but very savory and not overpower. The mushroom texture was very chewy and nice, crisp outside, and soft inside. I was enough to fill two hungry people temporarily before the full dinner. I'd try here again for a quick snack!

Love the vibe. The location is near the movie theater and other vendors but it can be difficult to have a place to sit. One of the BEST popcorn chicken I've ever eaten and the price wasn't too bad. The service was slow because there wasn't enough employees working. The line wasn't too long but the waiting was a hassle. It took 20 mins to received our food but it was worth the wait.

I ordered the brown sugar pearl fresh milk..The milk tea is good.But the taste of the pear (white) is super disgusting/terrible feeling for me.... it's not normal Taiwanese food....I will only order milk tea next time. Never wanted to try the pearl again ...

They have an oddly low Yelp rating compared to other Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks locations. Unfortunately, they seem to deserve it.Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks appears to be a chain offering soups, rice dishes, and fried snack-type offerings. They have a store in Valley Fair not far from where we were waiting in line for lunch, so my friends decided to place an online order. One of them noted that there didn't appear to be anyone manning the storefront, but the order did come out after several minutes.The item of the day was the Sweet Plum Potato Fries $8.00), which are battered sweet potato fries coated with plum powder. I wasn't a huge fan. Sure, the sweet potato was soft and hot in the middle, but the overall crispiness was lacking. On top of that, there didn't seem to be any salt. Yes, this is intended to be a sweet item, but there should be a light presence of salt to enhance overall flavor.Maybe the oyster mushroom or popcorn chicken would be better options for a fried snack from Shihlin. However, my experience from that the sweet potato fries is that this may indeed deserve a low overall Yelp rating.
