To be upfront the meal is $20 for an order of the famous Bo Ne. The chef is very nice and makes each meal to order. It's a generous amount with a side salad, fresh and crispy bread and the sizzling beef cooked to either medium rare or rare. The beef is very tender and flavorful, the side of the pate spread is a unique flavor but a bit on the sweeter side. Everything about the meal compliments one another and it is on... I'd heard about this restaurant before from a friend of mine when I asked her to suggest me a good place to have Bo ne (Vietnamese beef steak) in San Jose. I finally came there with my family and the food satisfied all of us . It is interesting that they only have one item to order on the menu it is a must try for everyone.I personally ordered mine cooked medium. The meat was tender. The flavor was addictive. It definitely surpassed my expectations. To accompany the steak, they also provided a sate soy sauce. Just remember to add it sparingly, as a little goes a long way. I especially like to eat their sour and sweet salad together with this dish since it enhanced the flavors perfectly. One thing to note is that they only accept cash, and the price is a flat $20 with no additional tax. The price appears to be pricey but they use expensive cut of meat so it makes sense for that price.I need to mention that this restaurant is located within the food court that have other restaurants there as well. Arriving at noon on a Saturday, I discovered that seating inside was limited and in high demand. While they do offer outdoor seating, the chilly weather prompted us to wait for an indoor spot. It took a bit of patience, as we kept a watchful eye for any available tables, ready to claim them before someone else did. This is a big downside because this kind of dish should only be for dine in it tastes worse if you order it for to go for sure and it was stressful to look for seats and tables although we had no problem with parking. I took back one star due to this reason.
My buddy Nino and I checked out Bò Né Phú Yên at the Lion Plaza Food Court and tried the most rich, savory, and delicious Bò Né, Vietnamese style steak and eggs. It was so good, I can't stop thinking about it.This $20 Bò Né dish comes with filet mignon cooked how you like, creamy pate, tender meatballs, and two over easy eggs over yummy savory soy-based sauce and served with toasted french baguette, small salad, and hot tea.It brought back childhood memories for me coming back into the Lion Plaza Food Court. I went at lunchtime on a weekday and there weren't too many people. The staff and service was great. I can't wait to check it out again.
CASH ONLY. $20 for Bo Ne, which includes filet mignon steak, 2 eggs, pate, onions, French baguette, side salad, and tea. this is the only dish they serve on weekends. overall pretty good and tastes authentic, but I wish there was more of a sauce with the steak. It lacked a little bit of flavor. I really liked how fresh and soft the bread was. Service was about 10 15 min to get our food on a busy Saturday morning. I believe it's owned by a family so friendly reminder to be kind if they're really busy!
Bo Ne is known as a Vietnamese breakfast in Vietnam. I've seen this dish on YouTube and have been looking for a restaurant that makes it. My husband drove me to San Jose to do some errands. We asked someone a recommendation of a good restaurant to eat. We were told that this restaurant , Bo Ne Phu Yen has a very good dish. To my surprise, it was Bo Ne!!!OMG!!! You get this amazing dish for only $20, no tax, and cash only. It includes grilled steak beef, two eggs, silky pate, a meatball, small salad, freshly baked french baguette and tea. You must try it. I'm drooling thinking about it while writing this review. LOL...Note, it is located inside a food court. It's a little tricky to find it. We had to ask someone for help.
Hidden gem in San Jose. They only have two items on the menu but everyone orders the beef steak. Ive had beef steak a good amount, including in Vietnam and I would say it's really good here!!I ordered mine medium rare and it was perfect. The meet was melt in your mouth tender. They give you a side of some sort of sauce, make sure you only add a little or you will make your dish too salty. If you add just some, it's perfect. They only take cash and it's $20 flat no tax. I went at 12:00 on a Saturday and it was difficult to find seating inside. They do also have seating outside but it was a little on the cold side so we waited to get a seat. Took a while and we had to keep an eye out for someone to leave and rush to the table before someone else got there. I'll 100% be back again!!
