Vargas And Sons Tortilla - Saginaw

I first discovered Vargas tortillas over fifty years ago. As a child, a family friend taught my mom how to make tacos using these tortillas, and I’ve been making them the same way ever since. It was particularly challenging when I temporarily moved away from Saginaw because I've maintained a strict rule of "no Vargas, no tacos" all these years. I'm grateful that Kroger sells them, but I've also gone directly to the bakery to purchase pre-made shells, tortilla chips, and other products. Whenever I dine at local restaurants, I always ask if they use Vargas tortillas—similar to how many Michiganders check if the hot dogs are from Koegel. We are incredibly lucky to have Vargas Bakery; it’s truly a cherished institution in the Saginaw area. I hope the family continues to run the business for many more years to come.

Vargas offers the finest corn tortillas in the area! Their bakery is spotless, well-organized, and always fully stocked. Additionally, they serve the best chorizo you can find!

I am a huge fan of Vargas! They serve the best taco bread I've ever had. Even if I were to move away, I'd make a point to return just for it. Their Mexican cookies, menudo, tamales, and everything else are fantastic, except for the meat used in the tacos, nachos, or tamales. I would give them a perfect 10!

Best corn tortillas in Michigan. Once you have had tacos with these tortillas. You might not want tacos made with any other tortilla!

They are so GOOD I drive 300 miles for their products.
