What sara likes about Osaka Ya:
The shop doesn't have a huge selection but it's a great place to pick up a few Japanese snacks and specialities. They're known for their Shaved Ice and mochi. We got some onigiri and a few mochi which were affordable and delicious. View all feedback. What Julia Meyer doesn't like about Osaka Ya:
I went to Fugetso-Do in downtown Los Angeles. Turns out I really do like mochi. When I discovered Osaka-Ya and the ratings, I got pretty excited! Ordered a few dozen mochi. The fruit ones had very little flavor, but the texture was decent (thus the 3 stars , the peanut butter was just a hunk of peanut butter in the mochi (yuck! ; however, the chocolate was actually tasty.I did get the yakisoba and would recommend it.... Best fresh mochi! I love their ohagi and sakuramochi. In fact, dare I say it, Osaka Ya is the one thing I miss most about living in Sacramento.

It's a cute little place with very fresh, handmade mochi products. I will say at least half of the items offered have red bean paste though, which I don't like,...
