I've been visiting Chocolate Fish since it first opened, and I must say, they serve fantastic coffee. However, a word of caution: if you enjoy the sharp, burnt taste of coffee from places like Dieucks, this might not be the spot for you. Chocolate Fish takes their roasting seriously, creating truly excellent beverages. The staff is consistently amazing, and after a few visits, they will remember your name and greet y... What Chaz DuBuque doesn't like about Chocolate Fish Coffee:
if they want an espresso as dark and strong as a motor oil, this is not the right load for them. fortunately, this is not very popular at the moment, so that is enough for most mortal. I know some timeline had recommended this place as the coffee shop of sacramento, but I don't know what 's a big fuss about me even feel like my espresso machine makes better (read: stronger/richer) espresso. but again I am lonely in m... Fast and friendly service, I had a tasty drip coffee on the way to see a client downtown. Parking can be a challenge here. There is lots of outdoor seating available but not much indoors.
This is definitely one of the top local coffee roasters in Sacramento! The coffee is fantastic. The only drawback of this location is that it has a more limited selection compared to their other spots. While you'll find all the standard espresso options here, if you're looking for a pour-over or French press, you'll need to visit a different location.
Disclaimer: the 4 stars might get up to 5 on subsequent visitation : I have no problems with Chocolate Fish--Great coffee, knowledgeable folks making it (and who very successfully helped me pick out one of their four coffee offerings that would suit me , peaceful patio setting (or was on a Sunday morning . Not too expensive; not dirt cheap.

Chocolate Fish takes their roasting seriously, creating truly excellent beverages. The staff is consistently amazing, and after a few visits, they will remember your name and greet you personally—unless you've been away for a while, in which case they may not recall. I find the prices to be quite comparable to other coffee shops, especially considering the exceptional quality you receive here. Overall, the finished product is always outstanding.
