We ate at this restaurant as part of our Douro Valley day trip and wine tasting tour with Viator. I was pleasantly surprised with the salad and pork dish I had. The pork was incredibly tender and flavourful and amongst the best pork dishes I have had in Europe. The white and red wines for lunch were just average. The port wine tasting after our meal was great. We tried port wines that were 20 and 30 years old and they both tasted great. I was almost tempted to buy a bottle but we really don't have much space in our luggage.
Came as part of a tour for lunch and tasting. Lunch was outside (they have an inside area also) in a garden. Well landscaped place, lovely setting. The lunch was really good with 2 wines (red and white) to taste. The pork with risotto was very good. Finished with cheese cake and 10yr tawny port. The port tasting after in a small barrel room was of a 20yr and 30yr port. They had ports back to 1893.
Interesting place. we have made in the frame of our tour through the region lunchtime. the service was good, but eating was nothing special. I don't think I'm leaving for lunch.
