What Steve likes about Great Maple La Jolla:
We walked in without a reservation on a Wednesday night, and waited about half an hour. The food was really wonderful; lobster pot stickers with a wonderfully spiced Asian sauce, scallops wrapped in prosciutto, some exquisite Ono and Monkfish, and mashed potatoes with two different sauces, both heavenly. I made a reservation for two a week ahead at Roy's they asked if it was a special occasion. I replied that it was for a birthday. We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday (yes, it's a busy time) and were seated in a room near the front door with about 10 tables, which is probably used for private parties.
