The hotel is located in the same parking lot of several medical offices, making it very convenient for patients. The staff went above and beyond to assure that my guest and I had everything we needed post surgery. This included providing a refrigerator upon request.I would like to recognize the following employees for going above and beyond: Summer, Richie, Elra and Kate.As mentioned in other posts, the rooms have not... What Amanda Nelson doesn't like about Doubletree By Hilton San Diego Del Mar:
This was one of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Filthy and items were left broken in the room, the AC panel fell off the wall and almost hit my kids, the drawers wouldn't stay closed with clothes in them and the tub took forever to drain the diverted leaked badly and it was GROSS. They did comp our first night but the need to seriously step up their game. We stayed in the king suite and my babies knees wer... View all feedback.
When we entered the room, it was clear that no one had checked its availability. The condition was appalling; the previous guests had left it in complete disarray. The mattress was flipped off the bed, and the bed itself was disconnected from the wall. Trash and dirty towels were strewn everywhere, along with empty alcohol bottles. I was shocked by the state of the room. I returned to the front desk to report the filthy condition and showed them the pictures and videos I had taken. I requested a different room on the same floor to avoid hauling our luggage again. We were finally assigned a new room, and at first, everything seemed acceptable. I started getting ready for bed when my partner joined me. As my partner pulled back the sheets, we were horrified to find stains—fresh blood, food crumbs, and what appeared to be mouse droppings. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. At that moment, we felt extremely unsafe, realizing we had been given a room that hadn’t been properly cleaned. Although the bed was made, the sheets had clearly never been changed. It was disgusting! In disbelief, my partner checked the rest of the room and found that the towels we had just used still bore fresh makeup stains. How had we missed this? We had trusted the hotel to ensure proper cleaning, and I felt terrible for my partner, as this experience marred what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. I took photos of everything for documentation, and I can confidently say I will never stay at this hotel again. If you ever stay at a hotel, please be sure to check your rooms thoroughly, especially the sheets! Rooms: Horribly unclean! Inspect your accommodations, folks!
Not all rooms come with a refrigerator, so it’s best to request one in advance if you need it. It's surprising in this day and age that every room doesn't include a mini fridge! The restaurant downstairs does a great job handling the busy atmosphere, but they need to restock their bar. Throughout the week, the hotel was fully booked, yet they ran out of beer (aside from Bud Light, which nobody seemed to order) and did not replenish their supply. Why can't hotels simply call their suppliers? Even a quick trip down the street for some Miller Lite would have sufficed! On a positive note, the bathrooms were well cleaned, and I appreciated the front desk’s efforts to get us into the suite as soon as it became available. The bar staff were very friendly, and the hotel boasts a beautiful pool area, which I enjoyed. Overall, it’s a good hotel with a convenient location near nice stores and some great dining options.
Additionally, the plumbing was problematic, as the sink, toilet, and shower all had drainage issues. The ice machines were often empty, and the staff had no suggestions for alternatives. The breakfast offered was significantly overpriced for what it was. While the pool area was nice, we frequently had trouble accessing it because the key cards often didn’t work. On top of all this, when we attempted to check out a day early after losing our games, we were told that we had signed a contract for six nights and would be charged for the full stay. We never signed any such contract. Overall, it was a chaotic experience!
I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton DoubleTree, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The room I was assigned to was outdated and showed signs of poor maintenance, leading to significant inconveniences during my stay. The lackluster room service was a significant letdown, as my repeated requests for assistance went unanswered for two consecutive days.As a loyal Hilton Diamond member, I had expected a certain level of service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met when it came to room service. On two separate occasions, I contacted the front desk to request room service, but to my dismay, no one showed up to address my needs.Upon entering the room, it became evident that the hotel's management had neglected to update the accommodations. The furnishings appeared worn-out, and the overall decor felt tired and dated. The lack of modern amenities and an overall lack of attention to detail were disappointing. One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the state of the bathroom. As soon as I attempted to turn on the shower, the faucet handle broke off, rendering the shower unusable. This inconvenience on the very first night of my stay was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient, as I had to contact maintenance to resolve the issue promptly. It was disheartening to encounter such a basic maintenance problem, as it demonstrated a lack of attention to detail and a failure to ensure guests' comfort.Furthermore, the bathtub in the bathroom had visible cracks, indicating that it had been previously damaged and poorly repaired. The cracks were evident and took away from the overall aesthetic appeal of the room. I found it concerning that the hotel did not address or fix these visible issues before assigning the room to me. It felt as though the hotel had neglected its responsibility to provide a well-maintained and comfortable environment for its guests.Overall, my experience at the Hilton DoubleTree was disappointing due to the outdated room and maintenance issues.
Worst Doubletree experience. I have stayed in multiple locations across the globe but at this location I had the worst experience ever. Initially on the arrival they gave me a room which had dirty bathroom and the towels were also stained. The bathroom door latch was broken. So they changed my room to a lower floor. After shifting the whole stuff to the new room, the air conditioner was not working. I called the front desk couple of times they told me maintenance will come shortly. But no one arrived till midnight. I had to sleep in a $240 room without any air conditioner. I couldn't sleep all night. I was assured that maintenance guy will fix it first thing in the morning but no one came. Even the jacuzzi wasn't working they said it will be fixed tomorrow.
