Restaurante Joao de Deus

Good quality food, and plenty of it, service is great, helpful staff always available, puddings are to die for, often eat here as the experience is consistent and enjoyable

The coffee and cake part is Ok much like a hundred others, pleasant to sit outside in the morning. The restaurant used to be good but the food is very average to say the least and the management rude , they have become anti ex pats so be warned

3 of us called in for lunch yesterday to be approached by a man waving us away and telling us all the empty tables in the restaurant were reserved. There are 2 ways to deal with customers when your restaurant is full, this mans manner was both rude and agressive. A smile and a 'sorry ' would have meant we would have returned another day but due to his appaling attitude we will not return and would warn friends not to bother.

Visited with 8 friends and got a rude welcome so wont eat there again. (The town has many other places to eat). Food was ok though if you can get past grumpy i thought slightly over priced for what you get. Called in for coffee one morning and the staff were just as miserable. No smiles no pleasantries, nothing.

Good Portuguese food very reasonably priced. We followed the proprietor from our local bar and all our family love this restaurant .
