Tasca Do Valado - Baiao

We were in the area and I went looking for a place to have lunch! We found Tasca do Valado in a wonderful place like something out of a magical tale. The service is top quality and the food is simply fantastic. A place to come back to for sure.

We made a reservation for a family group with children. When we arrived the restaurant was far from full and they did not get us a table because a couple was sitting at the table that was reserved for our group of 14 persons. We waited for 2 hours and not even for the 5 children In our group did they offer a solution. We left without eating at 15:30 and other tables were there for over 1 hour before being served. It takes over 30 minutes to arrive there... only the views are good all the rest is a shame. Looks like another failed change in management. Avoid the trip, hospitality is a wasted word for these people. There are plenty of great restaurants around Baião this is not one.

This is definitely one of my favourite spots in Baião, Douro Region. The views from the restaurant and its terrace are astonishing and the food delicious. Plus, the owners, Ricardo and Paula, are really lovely and welcoming. Will come back for sure. ;

Wonderful place with breathtaking view. Excellent food quality and very tasteful. Nice welcoming family owners that served me and my group with much kindness. A must stop when travelling to Douro Region.

If you realy whant to know more about Portuguese cuisine, this is the perfect spot. Located in an enchanted valley, Tasca do Valado will surprise you for sure. Arroz de Cabidela (only by previouse reserve) is the best i ever tasted but you'll find another great options (lamb, grilled meat, etc). Ricardo Paula (owners) will guide you through an amazing food experience. The view from the balcony is even on earth!
