Description

Spittal Inn offers a diverse experience for diners, from delightful meals and attentive service to some disheartening encounters. Many patrons rave about the generous portions and quality of the food, especially the carvery, which features locally sourced meats and mouthwatering vegetables. The outdoor seating benefits from thoughtful landscaping that mitigates nearby traffic noise, fostering a pleasant atmosphere. However, some guests have reported unwelcoming interactions with staff, including the owner, which significantly marred their visits. For families, improved communication regarding child policies could enhance the overall experience. Despite the uneven reviews, the restaurant remains a potential gem for future meals.

My grandmother and I visited this restaurant and tried their Sunday carvery. My grandmother enjoyed the meat options while I, being a vegetarian, was able to choose from a vegetarian meal or a plate with vegetarian options from the carvery. We both loved the desserts and the coffee was excellent. The restaurant also has a charming Victorian style arcade with local products, antiques, and unique shops. After our meal, we explored the arcade and purchased some delicious fresh bread and cake from the bakery. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

There were four of us and we visited on a Saturday night. The restaurant had a family room where we could bring our dog, and there was ample parking. The food was enjoyable and the owner was very friendly.

Rang too literally for 6 but later changed to 8 they were extremely helpful. we sat in a snuck. they were fast with table service of drinks and the menu was big enough to find something to eat. never before, but in any case. pub grub was nice and delicious. exactly what I expected and beautiful place.

I went to Spittal Inn with my Gran and we had the Sunday carvery. My Gran likes to have a few types of meat and they were happy to accommodate her. I am vegetarian but was able to have either a vegetarian meal or a plate for the carvery provided with vegetarian gravy. We both really enjoyed the food, the desserts were fantastic and the coffee was really good too. There is also a small Victorian style arcade with local produce and antiques as well as quirky shops inside. After we had eaten we had a walk and bought some cakes fresh bread and fresh pies from the bakery. Well worth a visit we would both highly recommend!

Visited over easter break with family, the bar was child and dog friendly. Food excellent. The little shops attached where lovely and we came back next day for breakfast in the cafe. Will be visiting again and possibly staying on campsite too.
