What Anonym dislikes about Hunter Cafe Rye:
Charming café with a scrumptious shawarma that I ordered. The meal was tasty, just like the packaging. However, I wouldn't recommend spending an extra $4 on the vegan feta. I added it to my order, but when I didn't see it, I asked a staff member about it. They assured me it had been included, claiming that the liquid white sauce (which resembled tzatziki to me) was the feta. Investing $4 for just a sauce feels excess... View all feedback.

I visited this restaurant with one vegan and two meat lovers, and we all ordered the tofu satay bowls. They were absolutely amazing! We all agreed it deserves a 5-star rating!
I absolutely love dining at Hunter! The food has a wonderfully refreshing style and is always fresh. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They serve great coffee and delicious homemade dishes.
Food was lovely! I got the satay tofu bowl and it was a really generous portion of food, and presented beautifuly! After this we had to try some of the carrot cake that was calling my name and it was the best I've ever had absolutely beautiful! Love the whole set up and the swinging chairs, think it would be awesome if they got some living indoor plants in there from a local business not a big commerical chain like bunngings) amazing stuff guys!

This place is conveniently located just minutes from the Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs, where we wanted to spend our day. We arrived at 1145, which ended a great time as they allowed us to order both the breakfast menu (stops by 12) and the lunch menu (start by 12). The black bowl was absolutely delicious, fresh and aesthetically pleasant. The tzatziki was the best tasting I had, and the pickled zucchini? Gurke? was so good. Everything just tasted so well together. Also the Pesto Scramble Tofu was very good, slightly oily, but tasty from semi-dried tomatoes and pesto. The coconut bacon didn't do much for me, it was like coconut flakes, but my partner enjoyed it. I also ordered the pizza bites from her food cabinet, it wasn't great, I didn't get a pizza flavor. The only annoyance is that no online menu is available on their social media.
This place is incredible! I tried the tofu dice, and it was delicious. The original bananas and the rich chocolate flakes were so thick and tasty! The atmosphere here is wonderful, and I even picked up a dress from the secondhand dress stand.

They assured me it had been included, claiming that the liquid white sauce (which resembled tzatziki to me) was the feta. Investing $4 for just a sauce feels excessive, especially since they sell the YAY! vegan feta in jars at the front. That jarred feta is delicious and has a great texture, and it would have been worth the $4 as a proper addition.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The burgers and nachos were delicious. This update reflects my experience as of March 25, 2023.
Fantastic vegan place, close to the Peninsular Hot Springs. Got the tofu scramble which was delicious! Friends got the mushroom burger, bruschetta and granola and everyone loved the food.
