Kooks Cafe Beach - Rye
Kooks Cafe Beach
Description
Kooks, a vibrant cafe near Rye beaches, captures attention with its quirky decor and laid-back beach hut vibe. While the minimalist menu offers intriguing options like breakfast tacos and Cuban sandwiches, many patrons express disappointment over portion sizes and flavor. Some dishes, like the spicy chicken bowl and egg tacos, fall short on taste and value, prompting comparisons to fast food chains. Despite mixed reviews on food quality, the cafe’s refreshing drinks and efficient service receive praise. With dog-friendly outdoor seating and a convenient location, Kooks remains a notable stop for beachgoers seeking casual dining, despite a few service concerns.

Their smoothies bowls are perfect on a hot day! Or a cold day (I’m craving one as I write this on a cool overcast June day! the bartender is as sweet as can be and the patrons are fun to spend time with! It is a small intimate setting and I could imagine it quickly filling up. The serving sizes for their food are a touch on the small side, but the food is very good! My only critique would have to be that all the cocktail cups are filled to the brim with ice before they are poured and they aren’t cheap cocktails so you’re not really getting your money’s worth out of the bar, but the bar IS getting its money’s worth out of you!

Kooks Cafe is my go-to spot whenever I'm at the beach in Rye! The staff is always friendly and the cold brew and betty are my all-time favs! Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian and often can't find good food options. Kooks, however, has many great choices on their menu for vegetarians! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch
Beautiful place with excellent customer service. Only got the tacos here and they were perfect for a small snack. The chicken corn taco was delicious along with the sweet potato veggie taco. I added that little extra heat and it hit the spot after a nicebeach day. Wish I got to try the drinks.... Need to go back
Very few cafe or restaurant options in this town. Happy to find this quirky Cafe. Cool decor. Beach hut vibe. Outside Porta potty. Minimalist Menu. Disappointed with our spicy chicken bowl. Bland, lacking in chicken. Pricey for what we got. Paper bowland forks,(yay), yet plastic cups? Good parking, dog friendly. Need sun umbrellas outside. Efficient service.
