The Duck - Ryde

This is a fantastic cozy restaurant featuring local dishes. I heard that the owners even have their own garlic farm on the Isle of Wight. The staff were excellent and attentive, and the service was quick. The food was divine—everyone enjoyed their meals, and most of us had different dishes. We will definitely be back!

We were very pleased with our decision to visit, especially since we couldn't make dinner reservations and opted for lunch instead. I don't believe the lunch menu is different from the dinner menu. I was aiming for a lighter meal, but I ended up feeling quite full afterwards. The sea bass was fried to perfection, and the gnocchi was delicious, though I would have preferred a smaller portion. The desserts were outstanding as well, particularly the vegan option for my partner, which looked amazing. I would definitely love to try more dishes on my next visit!

The menu was impressive, and we chose several appetizers to share along with our main courses. Everything we ordered was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The standout appetizers for us included the pork belly with beans and the scallops served on creamy spaghetti. For my main course, I had the perfectly cooked seabass on a bed of delicious potatoes. My friends also thoroughly enjoyed their main dishes. One friend ordered the lamb burger, which comes with a unique single square bun rather than a traditional top bun; it’s meant to be eaten with a knife and fork, and they assured me it was fantastic. A few of us opted for wine and chose a lovely Picpoul de Pinet, while other wine selections also looked great. Our total bill for four, which included three appetizers, four main courses, a bottle of wine, and a few beers, came to £144, making it just £36 each for an exceptional dining experience. Overall, it was thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful evening. the staff is very friendly and efficient. the decor is very elegant and modern, which makes for a nice eating experience! the food was delicious, I could not mistake any of the dishes we had, and the price was also excellent for the quality of food! overall I had a nice time and would definitely come back!

Love this place been about 8 times now, every time we go to I of W we have a meal there. Presentation of the food is lovely. Always tasty, love the cocktail.
